Spyglass deck addition - Eugene, OR

The client desired a new, two-story wrap-around deck and porch on their hillside home in Eugene, to replace an older, failing deck. Typical of most JRC decks, the decking is composed of long-lasting / low-maintenance composite wood with a custom cedar railing. The project also includes a new front entry, and a covered, outdoor barbeque and seating area which was built with beams recycled from the original decks. Part of the challenge of this project was to artfully blend the deck addition with the architecture of this 1980s home. The tie-in to the existing brick walk at the front entry (last photo) is a good illustration of this.
